Varsity Volleyball vs Clayton 10/3

These girls had a tremendous fight against Clayton on Friday, October 3rd. Ries Schnuck (‘28) and Georgia Hite (‘26) consistently pounded balls on the court, making it incredibly difficult for Clayton to come back and make a kill. Bailey Biggs (‘26) dug up every hard and fast ball that came flying from the opponent, making perfect passes so Kaitlyn Ahn (‘27) could set it. And our middles, Moriyah Douglass (‘26) and Penny Glosier (‘29), created a wall to block the balls, and they spiked them so hard and fast that Clayton had no chance of getting to them.

Through impressive coordination and incredible skill, the girls dominated Clayton, winning in straight sets. They won by three in the first and by two in the following sets. Though the final set proved to be a challenge, our athletes bombed the competition and defeated Clayton with a final score of 26 to 24.

The volleyball team works tirelessly day to day to improve their skills and teamwork. While they have support from their coaches, teammates, and parents, they also need support from their fans. We know that with a little more encouragement and cheering from classmates in the stands, they could accomplish anything. For the next game, the stands should be packed. Tuesday, October 14th, is the next game against Whitfield at 5:30 p.m. The gym should be shaking from all the noise. Please come out and support these amazing girls. See you there! Go Bomb!
